Gnathology

Gnathology is a special field of dentistry.

It is the science of the relation between the two dental arch (articulation, occlusion), the masticatory joint (called temporomandibular joint) and the chewing muscles.

A deficient occlusion can cause headache, facial pain, insomnia, tinnitus and swelling under the eyes by mornings

People usually don't recognize their faulty occlusion. Often it is not evident even for the dentist by a regular dental examination.

There might be disorders in the masticatory apparatus in case of a seemingly good occlusion..

Nowadays it is possible to measure these functions with special devices to discover and dissolve gnathological problems.

By correcting occlusional surfaces of teeth we can resolve problems caused by faulty occlusion
